Trine University is proud to add the Master of Engineering degree to the offerings of the Allen School of Engineering and Technology. This program offers an array of possibilities for young engineers and returning graduates alike: new degrees in five years, a better salary, or a promotion.

The rapid pace of technological advancement has resulted in a demand for engineers with advanced training. Engineers with the skills necessary to lead the design of a complex system are highly sought by industry. Regional manufacturers regularly comment that new engineers “lack the applied experience that allows them to take their knowledge from the classroom confidently into the workplace,” and that “more design skills will be required.”

By emphasizing advanced design skills rather than research, the Master of Engineering program addresses the needs’ of industry leaders. The Master of Engineering is a design-based, engineering practice-oriented degree.

The Allen School of Engineering and Technology is committed to the success of Trine’s students. Individualized attention from highly qualified professors—with advanced degrees form MIT, Yale, Princeton, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech (85 percent have doctorates and one-third are registered professional engineers)—assures that students will achieve their goals and help to invent the future.

Civil Engineering
Trine University can structure a program for you to coincide with your specific area of interest in the civil and environmental field. The curriculum includes elective courses in the following areas: environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic engineering, and structural engineering. In addition, we offer a minor in environmental engineering and architectural engineering.

Mechanical Engineering
At Trine University, you will be absorbed in the fundamental tools of modern mechanical engineering: high-level mathematics, physics, laboratory testing, and computer simulation. Practical designs are the result of any engineering effort and beginning as a freshman, you will be exposed to project work that emphasizes engineering design.
