A New Canadian Partner - Quest University
03.11.08

Quest University Canada is a small, undergraduate-only university with a unique and integrative liberal arts and sciences programme. Located in the spectacular Coast Mountain Range of British Columbia, Quest is a 45 minute drive from Vancouver along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway. The campus is located in the Garibaldi Highlands neighbourhood of Squamish, the outdoor recreation capital of Canada and an ideal location for our students from around the globe.

Quest is a brand new university, founded in 2002 but only recently "opened" its doors in September of 2007. Quest offers a single degree - a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences - based upon a special block curriculum plan. This plan will allow for a great deal of flexibility in terms of start dates as students can enter the block plan every month. The block plan allows students to concentrate on one course at a time. Each block normally lasts three and a half weeks and promotes focus, engagement, and flexibility. Students have only one subject to concentrate upon at a time and can immerse themselves in what they are studying.  Since Quest's academic year consists of three terms, students have the option to accelerate their programme and complete a 4-year degree in two and a half years!

Another very attractive selling point for Quest is their very special relationship with the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (UBC). This agreement enables Quest students to enrol in the Sauder School of Business Introduction to Management curriculum, which UBC will be offering on site at Quest. If a student chooses to take this programme combined with an internship or thesis, the student will receive a Sauder Introduction to Management Undergraduate Certificate that may be credited toward a Diploma or MBA at UBC.

The University itself is stunning and ultra modern with purpose-built, suite-style ensuite accommodation and superb recreation facilities. The facilities feature a gymnasium for basketball, volleyball and badminton built to NCAA / NAIA competition standards. International-size squash courts, well-equipped fitness facilities and workout rooms provide ample opportunities for athletics. Adjacent to the recreation complex is an all-weather playing field for soccer, football and field hockey, as well as tennis courts and a beach volleyball court. Just beyond the campus, students can go downhill and cross-country skiing, climbing, hiking, mountain biking, sea kayaking, windsurfing, and diving. Nearby Brackendale offers world-famous eagle watching. The local Squamish River estuary and the spectacular alpine landscapes of the Coastal Mountains are all within minutes of the campus.
