Dean College was founded in 1865 as an academy with a mission of preparing students to complete a baccalaureate degree. Now, over 140 years later, the college mission remains the same, making Dean a unique private college that delivers a personalized education for every student. For thousands of students this difference has changed their lives.

Dean College, a private, two-year college, offers a unique educational experience in the tradition of a New England college. Dean’s primary mission is preparing graduates for transfer to Bachelors degree programs at leading colleges and universities. Approximately 90 percent of Dean graduates successfully make this transition. Dean is also listed in the Harvard Shmarvard Guide among the top 100 colleges in America.

Students also enjoy intercollegiate athletics and a full activities program. Dean awards associate degrees for sixteen academic majors and  baccalaureate degrees in arts management and dance, plus offers on-campus bachelor degree options through a partnership with Suffolk University.

Dean College is a private, residential college committed to providing students with a personalized pathway to the baccalaureate degree by fostering academic success and personal confidence through our associate degree and baccalaureate degree programs.

At Dean you will receive a solid foundation in your choice of majors. In today's world where business is increasingly diversified and global, the foundation of a liberal arts education is a valuable and marketable asset for your future career goals.

Dean College seeks to engage students and challenge them to explore their ability and potential to lead others. There are many ways that students can get involved and take an active role in the campus community. Students can run for an executive board position with an organization, they can plan and run an event on campus, they can participate in a community service project, students can even start an organization designed around their passions and interests. There are several distinct groups that are focused on developing specific leadership skills. Some of these groups are paid positions, others serve as a "training ground" for students to prepare for their futures at Dean and beyond.

There are over 20 student-run clubs and organizations at Dean College. If you are not already involved, then feel free to stop by any club meeting. All meetings, including the Student Government Association, are open to all students.

Dean offers a wide selection of housing options including traditional style living, suite style or newly renovated houses on campus.  Accommodations range from coed to female only residence halls and include standard singles, suite-style living and double rooms.  All residence halls include common area kitchens and laundry facilities, and some include studies and television lounges.

Dean's classic, 100-acre campus is located in Franklin, Massachusetts: a quiet, charming New England town ideally situated between Boston, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island. So while there is ample solitude for learning, there is also a wealth of cultural and recreational opportunities just a 30-mile car or train ride away. Not to mention -- but we must -- the joys of Cape Cod and New Hampshire are also within easy range.
