Founded in 1903 and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Fisher College is a private, liberal arts college, offering the intimacy of a smaller school but also providing the resources of an institution with strong pre-professional career programs. Although the college has a small scale personal feel with just 700 students, they are surrounded by more than 250,000 students in 30 other colleges in the Boston area. Fisher College, located on Boston Common in beautiful Back Bay, puts students right in the middle of Boston, one of the most historic cities in the United States, and one of the world's most important centers of learning.

Many students see a two year associate degree from Fisher College as a pathway to a wide range of universities and colleges in New England and beyond. Credits earned at Fisher are generally transferable to similar upper-level baccalaureate programs of four-year colleges and universities. Because specific program requirements vary among institutions, students wishing to transfer should work closely with their advisor and the College transfer counselor to ensure the maximum transfer of credit.

Fisher College offers an ESL Transition program on campus, for students who do not have the required English proficiency for direct entry to a degree.

The academic programs offered at Fisher College combine the study of liberal arts and sciences with the professional skills demanded by a modern work environment. Technology and library research are an integral component of most programs leading to degrees and certificates.

Fisher College believes that students achieve greater success when they have specific educational goals toward which to work. The academic programs are designed with a degree of flexibility so that, generally, a student may change his or her major without difficulty or adverse consequences. Academic advisors are assigned to each student to assist in selecting the appropriate courses necessary to meet educational objectives.

Credits earned at Fisher are generally transferable to other colleges and universities. Because specific program requirements vary among institutions, students wishing to transfer should work closely with their advisor and the College transfer counselor to ensure the maximum transfer of credit.

Approximately 300 students make their homes in one of our four residence halls. Fisher is located just around the corner from the Boston Common in comfortable, 1900's "brownstone" townhouses with all the comforts of home. The turn of the century residence halls are elegant yet homey. Modern amenities (such as security; common areas with full-size refrigerators and microwaves, and TV/Lounge rooms with cable TV and DVD) make the halls a comfortable place to study, relax, or just hang out with your friends. While each living area is unique, each fosters an environment that is conducive to learning.

Popular activities include: white water rafting, talent shows, holiday celebrations, and theme dinners. The Office of Co-Curricular Programming is responsible for offering events on and off campus, such as the Drama Club; the Charles Viewer; Multi-Cultural, Management and Dance Clubs. The Office also oversees the Student Government Association, a major leadership forum for students.

Fisher College offers four residential halls all located on quaint Boston city streets near Fisher College.  Two of the buildings are considered 24-hour quiet floor residences.  All of the halls are coed (with alternate male/female floors), and feature kitchens, lounges, study areas, laundry facilities and vending machines.

Fisher College is located right in the heart of one of the East Coasts largest metropolitan areas - the City of Boston.

Walk the streets of Boston and history is around you everywhere. You'll come for the Revolutionary sites along the Freedom Trail, but the seasoned Boston traveler will know to search out the unusual - like the Ether Dome, where ether was first used - and the bizarre - the small bocce court in the North End built along the path of the Great Molasses Flood of 1919.
But that's only a part of your visit to Boston! From museums to pro sports, from fresh seafood to Italian cuisine, Boston has something for everyone. It's also a great place to start your exploration of New England.

One of America's oldest cities (founded in 1630), Boston remains one of its most European in feel. Like many European cities, Boston is best explored on foot. Make sure to wear some comfortable shoes to explore the Freedom Trail (which links key historic sites downtown by way of a red line painted on the sidewalk), the Public Garden, the bookshops and other stores of Harvard Square.
