In addition to the more traditional liberal arts programs, Marietta offers several innovative career-oriented programs such as sports medicine, computer science, petroleum engineering, and environmental science. Residence halls for first-year students include two coed halls (alternating male/female by floor) and an all male hall. Halls include lounges with TVs, kitchens and laundry rooms. Rooms are all shared and include single beds (extra-long, 80" mattresses), desks, chairs, chests of drawers, closets for each resident and window screens and window blinds.
A couple of blocks away from campus, downtown Marietta offers a variety of local shops and restaurants, including Austyn's Brighter Day, Lafayette Hotel Gun Room, Levee House, Marietta Brewing Company, Oliver's, Tampico, and the Town House.
